DC Circuits and Batteries

Once again we had a wonderful meeting at Green Motors in Berkeley (Thanks Marc).
We had Peitsa Hirvonen, owner of Sesco Electrical in Berkeley, present a talk on electrical safety about DC circuits and batteries. The presentation covered 12 volt electrical circuits in vehicle wiring and high volt DC power sources, 96 to 350 volts.
Peitsa covered the basics of electrical safety and provided several hands-on examples of dos and don'ts.
To show the power of a short circuit, we vaporized some wire.
He also explained about the benefits of home-based solar for charging and
other electrical issues. The meeting was well attended.
We also have planning for our EV Rally in Pleasant Hill/Concord on April 25 and other Earth Day events. After the meeting we have locally driven EVs on display in the parking lot, to look over and discuss. Hope to see you there.
