East (SF) Bay EAA Chapter
Annual Rally & Earthday Display - Diablo Valley College (DVC) Saturday, April 25, 2009
Location: Pleasant Hill Attendance: various
The East Bay EAA's spring rally at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill was held on April 25th 2009 from 10AM to 3PM. It was a perfect day, with mild temperatures and a little wind to keep things cool. Several other Earth Day activities were being held at the same time in other parts of the county, so the public attendance wasn't as large as it could have been, but the several dozen people that came to DVC to see the cars, as well as the students in the alternative energy classes being held at DVC the same day were pleasantly surprised by the variety of vehicles available for inspection and for rides.
We had 1 production and 8 conversion vehicles displayed, ranging from a commercially converted Ford Escort wagon to a newly converted Reliant Bond Bug, all against the backdrop of DVC's wind turbine and new 5MW Photovoltaic power system. Some of the younger visitors enjoyed the solar powered slot cars as well.
